    Military Outreach Committee (MOC) held a kickoff event by hosting an outreach booth at the Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose. The Japanese American Memorial Ceremony, Veterans Memorial Ceremony, Grand Army of the Republic Ceremony and Vietnam Veterans Field of Honor service were held over the Memorial Day weekend with over 1,500 attendees.

    Our chapter had an outreach booth at the Police Recognition Day, held at the historic shops at Tanforan Mall in San Bruno. Local police departments displayed police vehicles, held K9 demos and handed out educational materials on public safety. The event has been a success for the past 36 years, with over 20 agencies in attendance and coincided with National Police Week.

    Alumni members participated in Sound the Alarm, installation of alarms at local facilities in partnership with the American Red Cross.

    Our chapter held a Teen Academy for high school juniors and seniors at Santa Clara University, giving high school students an opportunity to get a comprehensive look into today’s FBI, including terrorism, cyber, polygraph, evidence response, SWAT and office operations.

    Chapter member and our lead for the Chasing the Dragon initiative, Ed Kressy, was honored at the FBI Director’s Community Leadership Awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. for his work through Defy Ventures, an organization providing training programs to the formerly incarcerated. Kressy was a meth addict for 11 years and now gives inspirational speeches at schools and community events.

    From April 9-11, 2019, members of our chapter attended special presentations from the FBI at our annual Quantico/FBI Headquarters trip in Washington D.C.
